Talbot Named the MeiGray Group ECHL Alumnus of the Month

PRINCETON, N.J. - Former Greenville Road Warriors' goaltender Cam Talbot is The MeiGray Group ECHL Alumnus of the Month for March.

The leading distributor of game- worn hockey jerseys and "Official Game-Worn Jersey Source of the ECHL," MeiGray has sold more than 6,900 jerseys since it became "The Official Game-Worn Jersey Source of the ECHL" in 2002-03.

The 27-year-old went 8-3-1 with one shutout, a 1.66 goals-against average and a save percentage of .946 in 12 appearances during the month.

Talbot allowed two or less in 10 of his 12 appearances and made at least 25 saves 11 times. Overall in 35 games with the Rangers this season, he has posted a record of 20-9-4 and ranks seventh in the league with five shutouts, sixth with a 2.21 goals-against average and fifth with a .926 save percentage.

In 56 career games with the Rangers, Talbot is 32-15-5 with eight shutouts, a 2.00 goals-against average and a save percentage of .932.

A native of Caledonia, Ontario, Talbot appeared in two games with the Road Warriors in 2010-11 going 1-0-1 with a 2.46 goals-against average and a save percentage of .921.

There have been 560 players who have played in the NHL after playing in the ECHL including 19 who have made their debut in 2014-15. The ECHL has had 415 players reach the NHL since 2002-03 when it changed its focus to become the primary developmental league for the NHL and the AHL. The ECHL had 97 players reach the NHL in its first 10 seasons and 215 in the first 15 years. There have been 304 ECHL players who have played their first game in the last 10 seasons for an average of more than 30 per year.
