Mallards' Season Ends with Stunning Game Seven Loss in Rapid City

RAPID CITY, S.D. (April 29, 2015) - Cody Ferriero scored his second goal of the game with just a minute and three seconds left in regulation- and just 32 seconds after Justin Fox had tied the game for the Quad City Mallards- and the host Rapid City Rush claimed a dramatic 2-1 game seven win over the Mallards Wednesday night to take the ECHL Central Division Semi-Finals four games to three and end Quad City's season.
Ferreiro tipped in the late game winner from the slot less than half a minute after Fox had seemingly set the stage for overtime by burying Michael Clarke's centering pass. Ferriero had first given the Rush the lead with a close range backhander at 3:26 of the third.
The Mallards fell despite getting a sterling 23-save effort from goaltender Parker Milner. Rapid City's Daniel Battochio earned the win in goal after keeping the Mallards off the scoreboard for better than 58 minutes.
