Quad City Mallards News Release

MOLINE, Ill. (December 4, 2009) - The Quad City Mallards, proud International Hockey League (IHL) affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers, have announced that Mallards owner Chris Lencheski will speak today at the prestigious 2009 Princeton Sports Symposium in Princeton, New Jersey, which brings together many of the most successful leaders in sports business to discuss and provide their insight on the industry.

Lencheski will be part of a panel discussion on "Building Your Brand with Social Media."

Among the other speakers at the annual Sports Symposium are former Chicago White Sox and Baltimore Orioles General Manager Roland Hemond, Minnesota Vikings Owner and President Mark Wilf, Sports Illustrated senior writer Tom Verducci and a host of other leading figures from throughout the world of sports.

"I'm looking forward to being part of an event that brings together so many top executives from throughout the field and sharing some of the methods we've used to refuel the Mallards in the Quad Cities and across the hockey community- I am a fan of Chris Chaney's work on this Symposium and am honored to have been asked to participate," said Lencheski.

Lencheski, CEO of Phoenicia Sport and Entertainment and a principal investor in two social media companies- Novus Applications and Major League Texting- is the only hockey owner or executive who will speak at this year's symposium, which will feature 61 speakers in total.

The Princeton Sports Symposium is held annually on the campus of Princeton University and is sponsored in part by the Princeton Varsity Club.

The Mallards' efforts in their first IHL season have already drawn plaudits from nationally respected sports business observers including the South Florida Sun Sentinel and the widely respected Sports Marketing and PR Roundup blog, which says of the Mallards' efforts:

"... under new owner Chris Lencheski [The Mallards] have sought to redefine how minor league hockey brands and markets itself in an area where minor league sports can be king. The result...will be a better, stronger brand, a quality family experience and good exposure to the sport for all involved, not to mention programs that could become even more of a best practice for arenas and their teams....Rocket science?

Not at all.

Understanding the marketplace, what attracts brands and how to communicate that experience to the media and to the fans?

Absolutely."

The Mallards hit the road to take on the Komets in Fort Wayne tonight and tomorrow night will battle the Lumberjacks in Muskegon.

The Flock is next in action on home ice next Friday, December 11 at 7:05 p.m. against the Dayton Gems.

The first 1,000 fans through the doors for that game will receive free Mallards stadium scarves.

Tickets for the December 11 game and all remaining regular season Mallards home games are available at the i wireless Center box office, Ticketmaster outlets and www.ticketmaster.com or through Ticketmaster charge-by-phone toll free at 1-800-745-3000.
