Moline, IL-The Mallards went 2-1-1 this week to move to within two points of Fort Wayne for second in the United Hockey League's Western Division. Quad City beat Port Huron 8-2 on Valentine's Day to begin the week on a positive note. On Friday night, the Mallards won a crucial Western Division game in Fort Wayne by a final of 2-1. Saturday night at The MARK, the team dropped a shootout decision 3-2 vs. Missouri. Quad City's lone loss of the week came at the hands of the Kalamazoo Wings as they beat the Mallards 5-1.
Mallards Head Coach Brian Curran reached the 200 win milestone following Tuesday's victory over Port Huron. On Sunday afternoon, J.J. Wrobel scored his 100th career goal during the Mallards loss to Kalamazoo.
The Mallards are on the ice four times in five days beginning on Wednesday night at The MARK vs. Rockford. On Friday, Quad City hosts a rematch with the Kalamazoo Wings. Saturday, the team travels to Rockford for a showdown with the Hogs. On Sunday afternoon, the Mallards are back at The MARK to play Missouri.

T.G.I. Friday's is giving away trading cards to the first 1,000 fans in attendance at Sunday's game. This week edition of cards features Tom Clayton, Chad Woollard, Mike Olynyk, Jesse Rycroft and Mallards Equipment Manager Jason Rivera. The Mallards also welcome school groups from throughout the Quad Cities this Sunday. After the game, the Post-Game Party will be held at T.G.I.Friday's next door to The MARK.
Season Ticket Holder Buddy Nights
Mallards "Buddy Nights" return on February 24th vs. Kalamazoo. On these special nights, season ticket holders will receive a voucher for one free upper bowl ticket for every ticket they hold. These seats can be upgraded to lower bowl tickets for just $5. For those that haven't picked up their vouchers, they are still available at the Maroon Mortgage Information Table during home games or at The Mallards Nest.

Tuesday, February 14th-Port Huron 2 at Quad City 8
The Mallards played out a Valentine's Day Massacre on Tuesday night at The MARK as they beat Port Huron 8-2. Chad Woollard and Jesse Rycroft each scored a pair of goals while Glenn Detulleo recorded five assists in the win. In the first, Rycroft opened the scoring with his fourth tally of the year just 5:37 into the period. Scott Horvath tied the game for the Flags four minutes later. The Mallards seized control of the game when Woollard scored on a 5-on-3 power play at 13:19 of the period followed by a J.J. Wrobel goal when the power play went to 5-on-4. The team held the 3-1 lead into the first intermission. In the second, the Mallards lengthened their lead on Matt Radoslovich's 15th goal of the year and Woollard's second of the night. It was also the second power-play goal of the night for the Mallards premier sniper. The Mallards stretched their lead to 6-1 on their fourth power-play goal of the night, scored by Samy Nasreddine. Jim Murphy for Port Huron's second of the night before the Mallards added two goals in the game's final two minutes. Rycroft added his second of the night with 1:57 left, and Rafal Martynowski added a finishing touch with the team's season-high eighth goal of the night. Detulleo's five assists marked the second time this year that the Timmins, Ontario native recorded five helpers in a game. Andrei Lupandin had four assists to contribute to the victory.
Friday, February 17th-Quad City 2 at Fort Wayne 1
The Mallards continued their hot play with a 2-1 win over the Komets on Friday. After over 40 minutes of scoreless hockey, the Mallards recorded two power-play goals early in the third to earn the win. Samy Nasreddine opened the scoring with his sixth goal of the year on a Mallards power play at 2:19 of the final period. Chad Woollard stretched the lead to 2-0 with a power-play goal at 6:41 of the closing period. Fort Wayne's lone tally of the night came off the stick of Brent Rumble with 5:21 left in the contest.
Saturday, February 18th-Missouri 3 at Quad City 2--Shootout
A gritty Mallards effort resulted in a regulation point as the Missouri River Otters topped Quad City 3-2 in a shootout on Saturday at The MARK. Chad Woollard and Glenn Detulleo scored in regulation for the Mallards. In the first, Woollard's 29th goal of the season staked the Mallards to 1-0 lead at 6:09 of the opening period. Missouri's Jimmy Callahan evened the slate 10 minutes later with his seventh goal of the year. In the second, the teams once again exchanged goals. Missouri's Brad MacMillan scored at 6:37 of the middle period to give the Otters the lead for the first time. The Mallards answered less than three minutes later on Detulleo's 10th goal of 2005-06. The score remained knotted at two throughout regulation. In the shootout, Brenden Cuthbert stopped all five Mallards he faced while Missouri's Lonnie Loach scored the only goal of the shootout in the fifth round.
Sunday, February 19th-Kalamazoo 5 at Quad City 1
The Kalamazoo Wings handed the Quad City Mallards a 5-1 defeat on Sunday afternoon at The MARK. In the loss, Mallards forward J.J. Wrobel scored his 100th career goal. Former Mallard Jeff Reynaert stopped 28 shots in the Kalamazoo net to earn the win. The Wings recorded a pair of power-play goals in the first to take a 2-0 lead. Greg Labenski scored at 6:47 of the opening period followed by a man-advantage marker by Jason Deitsch at 17:34 of the first. Deitsch added an even strength tally in the second to give Kalamazoo a 3-0 edge headed into the third. Wrobel powered a shot past Reynaert just 57 seconds into the third for the lone Mallards goal. Kalamazoo's Mike Dombkiewicz quickly snuffed out any hopes of a Mallards comeback with his seventh goal of the year at 3:26 of the closing period. Damian Surma netted the game's final goal at 8:40 of the third.
Player of the Week
Chad Woollard is the Mallards nominee for UHL Player of the Week. The Durham, Ontario native recorded two goals and an assist on Valentine's Night vs. Port Huron. He followed that with a two-point performance (a goal and an assist) vs. Fort Wayne on Friday. On Saturday night, he recorded his 29th goal of the year vs. Missouri. During the week, Woollard recorded four goal and two assists for six points.
Goalie of the Week
Jason Tapp is the Mallards nominee for UHL Goaltender of the Week. He stopped 25 shots in Tuesday's win over Port Huron. Friday night in Fort Wayne, the Mallards netminder made 21 saves in a win over the Komets. He stopped 17 shots on Saturday before falling to Missouri in a shootout. During Sunday's loss, Tapp made 32 saves.
