Michigan weekend kind to IceHogs

After seeing its club record 11-game winning streak come to an end on Wednesday, the Rockford IceHogs rebounded over the weekend taking five of six points during a three game road trip through Michigan. The IceHogs will wrap up their longest stretch of games this week with four more contests.

Wednesday, Feb. 15: Fort Wayne Komets 4 vs. Rockford IceHogs 2

Friday, Feb. 17: Rockford IceHogs 5 at Flint Generals 4

Saturday, Feb. 18: Rockford IceHogs 6 at Muskegon Fury 7 (SO)

Transactions

-Goaltender Michel Robinson was re-assigned to Rockford from the Milwaukee Admirals (AHL) on Sunday, Feb.19.

-Goaltender Jake Pruss was released on Sunday, Feb. 19.

-Goaltender Jake Pruss was signed on Friday, Feb. 17.

-Goaltender Tim Danlow was released on Thursday, Feb. 16.

-Goaltender Tim Danlow was signed on Wednesday, Feb. 15.

-Goaltender Michel Robinson was loaned to the Milwaukee Admirals (AHL) on Wednesday, Feb. 14.

Bacon Bits:

Rockford had its club-record 11-game winning streak snapped on Wednesday against Fort Wayne.

The Hogs are unbeaten in a club record eight straight on the road (7-0-1).

Winger Greg Barber has a seven game point streak (3g-5a-8pts).

Rockford tied a club record on Sunday, allowing only 11 shots on goal against Port Huron in its 5-0 win.

The 5-0 win was goaltender Michel Robinson's second shutout of the season and club record ninth in his IceHogs career.

Robinson made his second start of the season for the Milwaukee Admirals (AHL) on Saturday, turning away 29 shots while earning a point in a 4-3 overtime loss.

After this Saturday's game against Quad City, Rockford will embark on a season high seven game road swing.

Rockford scored four goals in a club record 1:43 on Saturday in the third period in Muskegon.

Rockford scored 16 goals during their three game road trip over the weekend, and didn't have any multi-goal scorers in any of the games.

Hot Hog Week 18:

Center Olivier Proulx was the IceHogs nomination for Player of the Week for Week 18. Proulx, who recently surpassed Jeff Antonovich for fifth all-time on the IceHogs scoring list, had 1g-4a-5pts in the Hogs four games.

Upcoming Games:

Wednesday, Feb. 22 at Quad City Mallards. Game time 7 p.m. Rockford returns to the MARK of the Quad Cities to take on the Mallards. The game is the first of two between the teams during Week 18.

Thursday, Feb. 23 Port Huron Flags. The puck drops at 7:05 p.m. The Hogs and Flags matchup once again, this time at the Rockford MetroCentre. The game was moved up a day (originally scheduled for Friday, Frb. 24) to accommodate a concert at the MetroCentre. The game is home game #29 for Season Ticket Holders.

Saturday, Feb. 25 vs. Quad City Mallards The rivalry resumes at 7:05 p.m. The Hogs and Mallards hook up for the second time in four days. The first 1,000 fans to the game will receive an IceHogs Sports Bag from Member's Alliance Credit Union, B103 and 13WREX.

Sunday, Feb. 26 at Muskegon Fury. The contest starts at 1:10p.m. Rockford returns to Muskegon for another showdown between the UHL's top two teams. The game also marks the beginning of the IceHogs season-long seven-game road swing.

Rockford IceHogs fans can catch all IceHogs Regular and Post Season games on Rockford's Voice, WNTA-AM 1330. Fans can also watch and listen to the Hogs on the World Wide Web with the B2 Networks! Log on to the IceHogs Web site (icehogs.com) and click on the "click here to watch the game live" icon, and for just $6, you can catch all of the IceHogs action on your computer. New to the network this season is ESPN Radio "The Jock" 1380 AM. The Jock will broadcast 20 Hogs games during the regular season. Check your local listings. Also, fans with Insight Cable television can tune in to Channel 57 for all the IceHogs hockey action this season. The broadcast begins with the Pregame Show 20 minutes before the puck drops. The Rockford IceHogs would like to extend an apology to all the Hogs fans who have tried to listen or view the broadcast on icehogs.com through the B2 Networks when the team is in Fort Wayne. The Komets have chosen not to adhere to league rules and do not have B2 Network access in the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum at this time. IceHogs fans can catch all the Hogs games, home and away via broadcast and video through the B2 Network on icehogs.com all season, with the exception of the games played in Fort Wayne. The UHL is currently addressing the situation in Fort Wayne and we will let you know if anything changes. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have created.
