Last Game

Sam Warning scored twice as the Mallards built a 3-0 lead before holding off the host Cincinnati Cyclones' comeback bid on the way to a 4-2 victory Wednesday night.

Rebound

Wednesday night's win halted the Mallards' three-game losing streak, their longest such skid of the season. The victory was the Mallards' first since they won 2-1 in Kalamazoo on November 12.

Central

The Mallards and Fuel enter tonight's game tied for fourth place in the rugged Central Division. Only one of seven teams in the division- the 6-9-2 Kalamazoo Wings- has a losing record.

Busy

The Mallards tonight play the fifth game of a stretch that will see them play six times in nine nights.

Home Hazards

The Mallards tonight bid to bounce back from their first consecutive home losses of the season after falling to the Wheeling Nailers 3-2 at the iWireless Center last Saturday and again Sunday.

After tonight the Mallards play four straight away games and are on the road for seven of their next eight games.

The Mallards two games over .500 despite having been outscored 39-37.

The Mallards have been outscored 7-3 in the third period over their last four games. Despite that fact, the third remains the only period in which the Mallards have outscored the opposition. The Mallards Wednesday night limited the Cyclones to 24 shots and matched a team single period season low by allowing just two shots in the first after giving up a total of 132 shots over their prior three games- an average of 44 per game. The Mallards now rank fifteenth in the ECHL in shots against (31.4 per game) and eighteenth in shots taken (29.7).

Komet Crash

Three of the Mallards' six regulation losses this season have come at the hands of the Fort Wayne Komets. The Komets swept a season-opening home-and-home series with the Mallards before defeating the Flock again last Friday.

Stingy

The Mallards rank fourth in the ECHL in goals against (2.6 per game). The Mallards have given up three goals or fewer in 12 of their first 15 games and have held foes to two goals or fewer eight times.

Red Light District

The Mallards, who Wednesday night scored a season-high four goals in a game for a fourth time, rank twenty-third in the league in goals per game. The Mallards score 2.5 times per outing, the lowest average for any ECHL club with a winning record.

Warning Sign

Warning has now scored three times in his last two games to take over the Mallard lead in goals (7).

Trifecta

Justin Kovacs Wednesday night piled up three assists to match team season highs for points and assists in one game. Kovacs leads the Mallards in both points (16) and assists (11) on the season.

Double Down

Chris Francis and Guillaume Gelinas both provided a goal and an assist for the Mallards Wednesday night.

Debut

Defenseman Dylan Labbe made his Mallard debut Wednesday night in Cincinnati after being reassigned to the Mallards by the National Hockey League's Minnesota Wild from the American Hockey League's Iowa Wild Tuesday.

Between the Pipes

Adam Vay made 22 saves in Wednesday night's win. C.J. Motte leads the ECHL in save percentage (.943) and ranks second in goals against average (1.92).

Power Play

The Mallards rank seventh in the ECHL on the power play (21.8 percent). The Mallards scored one power play goal in each of their last three games on a total of 12 opportunities.

Penalty Kill

The Mallards rank eleventh in the league in penalty killing (83.9 percent). The Mallards have allowed one power play goal in each of their last three games on a total of 13 penalty kills.

Head-to-Head

The Mallards opened their ten-game season series with the Fuel with a 4-1 win November 5 in Indianapolis. That victory was the Mallards' first ever away win over the Fuel. The Mallards have now gone 4-7-0 all-time against the Fuel and have posted a 3-2-0 home record against Indy.

Ins and Outs

Forward Grant Arnold returned to the lineup Wednesday night against Cincinnati after missing Sunday's game against Wheeling (upper body injury)...Defenseman Dylan Labbe was reassigned to the Mallards by Minnesota (NHL) from Iowa (AHL) Tuesday...Defenseman Donnie Harris was placed on 21-day injured reserve Tuesday (upper body injury).
