Moline, IL- The Mallards downed the Missouri River Otters 3-2 on Friday at The MARK to stretch their unbeaten string to four games (2-0-2).
In the first, the Otters jumped to a 1-0 lead on a goal by Chris Bell. Three minutes after Bell's marker, Patrick Nadeau responded with his fourth goal of the season to even the game at one apiece. Marty Standish earned an assist on Nadeau's goal in his first game back from injured reserve. The Mallards took a 2-1 lead on Alexandre Mathieu's first Mallard goal just three minutes after Nadeau's tally.
In the middle frame, a shorthanded goal by Missouri's Barrie Moore tied the game at two with 10:14 gone in the period.
In the third, Quad City's Les Borsheim recorded his first goal of the season with a blueline rocket past Jason Tapp. The goal was also Borsheim's first point as a Mallard. A.J. MacLean earned the lone assist on Borsheim's goal for his second helper of the night.
With the victory, the Mallards improve to 15-15-6 on the season. The team is 9-1-6 in games decided by one goal.
Tomorrow at 7:00 p.m., the Mallards wrap up a four-game home stand vs. Elmira. It's Old Time Hockey Night featuring the organ music of Chicago Blackhawks organist Frank Pellico.
