Madison, WI - The Madison Mallards (16-14) fell to the Lakeshore Chinooks (22-10) tonight at the "Duck Pond" by a score of 3-1. The Mallards stranded ten runners on base to drop five games back of the Lakeshore Chinooks in the Northwoods League South Division.

Mallards starter Christian Taugner (Brown) tossed five innings, giving up three runs on six hits while striking out one in the loss.

The Chinooks scored one run in each of the first three innings while the Mallards only run came in the fifth. With runners on the corners, Chinooks catcher Zack Bowers (Georgia) made an errant throw to second on a Cody Stevens (Northwestern) stolen base, and Adam Walton (Illinois) jogged in from third to make the score 3-1.

Chinooks starter Luke Lowrey (Southern Mississippi) gave up one run on three hits in five innings of work to get the win.

The Mallards stranded two runners in the ninth to end any threat of a walkoff win. Getting the save was Chinooks reliever Andrew Elliot (Wright State), who pitched in the ninth and struck out two Mallards batters.
