Kootenay Ice News Release
Cranbrook, B.C. - The Kootenay ICE Hockey Club is announcing the details of its Make a Difference - Community Recognition Night presented by Cranbrook KIA, which is taking place on Friday, October 26.
The game will recognize groups in the community that are making a positive impact, as well as a pre-game ceremony acknowledging all groups that have chosen to take part in the special night.
"There is an incredibly strong sense of community within Cranbrook and the surrounding East Kootenays. Taking the time to recognize groups who are actively making a positive impact through their time and effort is something that's very important to the ICE and it's something we wanted to do," explained Leah Watkins, Director, Business Operations and Fan Experience.
The ICE are encouraging any community groups that would like to be part of the event to contact the ICE office at 250-417-0322.
Groups who sell 50-or-more tickets to this game will receive a Premium Game Day Suite for a future ICE home game. The Premium Game Day Suite can be auctioned off to raise funds and awareness for the group's special cause, or they can use it to host their closest friends, family and group members.
CRANBROOK KIA'S HOCKEY SHOT INTERMISSION FEATURE
Friday's game will be the launch of the Cranbrook KIA Hockey Shot intermission feature.
Contestants will have the chance to win a 2018 KIA Forte six times throughout the 2018-19 regular season. During each intermission feature, one contestant will take one shot, bank the puck off the boards and try to make the puck rest entirely in the back of the net. If the puck goes into the net and bounces out, that does not qualify as a win.
Fans interested in competing in the Cranbrook KIA Hockey Shot can enter their name under the ICE tent on the concourse of Western Financial Place during Friday's game.
Kootenay ICE 2018-19 prorated season seats are available only until Thursday, November 1. Purchase yours at the ICE Gear Store at Western Financial Place, by calling 250-417-0322 or online at www.icecountry.ca.
