Mississauga St. Michael's Majors News Release
TORONTO, ON â Toronto St. Michael's Majors Director of Business Operations, Tammy Carlson, will be going on maternity leave for twelve months, beginning next week. As a result, Ottawa Senators Vice-President of Broadcast, Jim Steel, will be filling her role in the interim.
Steel has been with the Senators since their inception. As an executive with Terrace Investments, the organization which was awarded the NHL franchise in December, 1990, Jim was directly involved in the NHL expansion bid process and, was instrumental in purchasing all of the land (600 acre land-assembly) for the Corel Centre, Home of the Ottawa Senators.
"We are very happy to have Jim step into my role for the next year," stated Carlson. "His experience, coupled with the fact that he is already operating within the same ownership environment, should create a seamless transition."
Prior to joining Terrace, Steel was the Director of Operations for an Ottawa-based advertising firm, where he spent five years. Jim has been married to his wife Patricia for 18 years and has two children, Melana, 14 and Michael, 11. He can be reached in the Majors office at (416) 651-8228, x 353 or jsteel@majors.ca.
