Mississauga St. Michael's Majors News Release

Toronto, Ont. (Friday, Mar. 16, 2007) - The St. Michael's Majors wrap up their 10th anniversary season on Sunday afternoon when they host the Belleville Bulls at 2 p.m. And, they plan to do it in style, surrounded by all of their loyal fans.

Prior to the game, the Majors will be holding an outdoor, free barbecue, which will run from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. This will take place alongside the Molson Lounge, at the southwest corner of the arena. Then, prior to the ceremonial puck drop, the final team banner will be dropped, honouring this year's club.

Then, it's Fan Appreciation Day during the contest as prizes will be given away to random fans throughout the game and the St. Michael's College School's jazz quartet will supply the ambience. Also, a boatload of 2005-06 jerseys will be auctioned off in the Molson Lounge. And, a special edition line-up package, along with any remaining 2006-07 publications (OHL yearbook, Majors yearbook, etc.) will be available for only $1 apiece.

After the game, four lucky fans will participate in the "Shirts Off Our Back" promotion as graduating players Micheal Haley and Darrell Simich and assistant-captains Matt Caria and Matt McCready will be giving away this year's jersey on the ice.

Finally, the whole team will be seated across the red line and fans will have the opportunity to obtain autographs.

This game will wrap up the careers of veterans Haley and Simich, who have both provided a strong veteran presence all season.

Simich came to the OHL from the QMJHL after spending last season with the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles and beginning this year with the Drummondville Voltigeurs. His hulking presence quickly solidified the Majors blueline corps. His offensive touch was a welcome addition as he heads into the final game with 21 points. And, he was a strong contributor to the organization's community programs.

Haley was the quintessential captain this year, helping mould the many youngsters on the Majors roster. He spent his entire five-year OHL career (first three-and-a-half seasons with the Sarnia Sting) sticking up for his teammates, and this year was no different. His current totals of 28 goals, 51 points and 168 penalty minutes are all, by far, career highs.

Thank you for your service gentlemen and best of luck in the future!

Majors tickets are available by contacting the club at 416-651-8228, by calling Ticketmaster at 416-872-5000, online at www.ticketmaster.ca or by stopping by the St. Michael's College School Arena box office within two hours of the puck drop.
