OHL Announces Disciplinary Action

The Ontario Hockey League today announced the results of its review of certain incidents which occurred in a game played in London on the 8th of March, 2007 involving the Knights and the visiting Kitchener Rangers Hockey Club.
The main incidents reviewed were two situations involving players of the London Knights Hockey Club during the 1st period in such game.
In making his announcement as a result of the review, Commissioner David Branch stated..."based on the review by the League, it is the opinion of the League that the actions of certain players of the London Knights Hockey Club were totally unacceptable, disrespectful towards the on-ice officials, and detrimental to the game of hockey and the welfare of our League."
As a result of the review, player Josh Beaulieu of the London Knights Hockey Club shall be suspended for ten (10) games and player David Jarram shall be suspended for fifteen (15) games.
In addition, the League has been consistent in its position that a Coach in the OHL is in a position of authority and accountability, particularly in relation to the actions of his players.
As such, it is the opinion of the League that Head Coach Dale Hunter shall be suspended for five (5) games and the London Knights Hockey Club is fined $5,000.00.
