Mainers Name Ciavolella 2023 Director of Broadcasting & Media

SANFORD, Maine - Justin Ciavolella has been named Director of Broadcasting & Media for the 2023 season.
Ciavolella, a Sayville, New York native, is currently a sophomore at Pennsylvania State University, where he is intending to major in broadcast journalism with a minor in sports studies and certificates in sports journalism and business.
At Penn State, Ciavolella is a part of CommRadio, Penn State's premier student-run radio station where he is a broadcaster, talk show host and writer. He has experience as both a play-by-play broadcaster and color commentator. Ciavolella has called baseball, basketball, hockey, lacrosse, soccer, softball and volleyball. Along with his work as a broadcaster, he is also a men's hockey insider, where he writes weekly articles including feature stories, series previews and game recaps.
Ciavolella also has experience doing on-camera work through Penn State Sports Night and After the Whistle. Outside of broadcasting, he has given back to his community through volunteer work while also achieving the rank of Eagle Scout.
