Mainers Lose One, Second Game Suspended

Sanford, ME - The Sanford Mainers lost the first half of a double header against the Laconia Muskrats by the final score of 4-2 on Friday. Rain forced the second game to be suspended after three innings with the score tied 0-0. The Mainers are now 18-20.

Laconia got on the board early, scoring in the top of the first inning. John Ziznewski tripled and scored on a Dylan Kelly sacrifice fly.

The Muskrats extended their lead in the third. Kendall Keaton singled and stole second to start the inning. Will Johnson singled to score him and make it 2-0 Laconia. Ziznewski reached on a fielder's choice that saw Johnson retired, and Kelly homered to right to make it 4-0 Muskrats.

Sanford got one back in the bottom of the third. Brett Mollenhauer doubled and scored on a Mike Montville single. The Mainers scored again in the bottom of the fourth. Paul Kronenfeld walked and scored on an Eric Hailer double to make it 4-2 Laconia, which was the final score.

Game two was suspended after three complete innings at 0-0 and will be finished later this week.
