Maine Uses Its Claws to Steal Win over Delaware

LAS VEGAS - The Maine Red Claws (10-5) defeated the Delaware Blue Coats (10-6), 128-125, on Day Three of the 2019 MGM Resorts Winter Showcase.

A balanced attack propelled Maine to victory as the team had six players score in double figures. Maine's bench was a key factor as guard Jaysean Paige and forward Wayne Blackshear tallied 25 and 14 points, respectively. Center John Bohannon recorded a double-double with 17 points and 13 rebounds while guard Carsen Edwards accounted for 19 points and seven rebounds. With the win, Maine improves to 10-5.

In a game where the Blue Coats led by as many as 12 points, the Red Claws registered 18 steals, which proved to be critical in the team's victorious effort. The game featured 25 lead changes and 13 ties.

Delaware was led by Philadelphia 76ers two-way player Marial Shayock with 28 points in 31 minutes and reserve Shake Milton with 28 points in 27 minutes. With tonight's loss, the Blue Coats drop to 10-6 in the season.

The Red Claws will return to action on Friday, Dec. 27 when they visit the Capital City Go-Go at 7 p.m. ET on NBAGLeague.com. The Blue Coats will also resume play on Dec. 27 when they host the College Park Skyhawks at 7 p.m. ET on Twitch.
