Grand Rapids Drive Upset Top-Seeded Memphis Hustle to Advance to Winter Showcase Championship Game

LAS VEGAS - The Grand Rapids Drive defeated the Memphis Hustle, 104-101, on Day Two of the 2019 MGM Resorts NBA G League Winter Showcase. With the win, the Drive advanced to the Winter Showcase Championship Game on Sunday.

Detroit Pistons two-way player Jordan Bone led the Drive in scoring with 22 points in 31 minutes. Forward Donta Hall recorded a double-double with 10 points and 13 rebounds while forward Louis King netted 16 points in the contest. Reserve Khalil Iverson added 10 points in 17 minutes. Grand Rapids improved to 10-8 with the victory.

In a game that came down to the final possession, the Drive led by as many as 16 points. The game featured 10 lead changes and two ties.

Memphis was paced by Memphis Grizzlies two-way player Yuta Watanabe in tonight's matchup. The 6-8 guard had a game-high 26 points. Guard Dusty Hannahs also accounted for 24 points in 25 minutes off the bench. With the defeat, Memphis fell to 14-2 on the season.

The Drive will face the Salt Lake City Stars in a championship game on Sunday at 4 p.m. PT on ESPN2 with players on the winning team receiving $100,000. Also on Sunday, the Hustle will conclude their Showcase appearance against the Wisconsin Herd at 6 p.m. PT.
