(Batavia, NY)-The Mahoning Valley Scrappers and Batavia Muckdogs went 11 innings without a run being scored on Thursday night. In the 12th inning the Scrappers would take a 1-0 lead before the Muckdogs, down to their final strike twice, would get a two run walk off double to top the Scrappers 2-1 at Dwyer Stadium.

Shane Bieber was unhittable for the first three innings. He did not allow a base runner as he struck out four.

Luis Jimenez would follow Bieber with six innings of scoreless relief. Jimenez would strand four runners on base as he turned in his best outing of the season.

While the Scrappers pitching staff would dominate the first 11 innings, the offense couldn't get anything going either. The Scrappers best scoring chance during regulation came in the top of the fifth inning. Mahoning Valley would load the bases with two outs but would strand all three on base.

In the top of the 12th inning Emmanuel Tapia would walk and Mitch Longo would single. With one out Alexis Pantoja singled to score pinch runner Silento Sayles with the go ahead run for a 1-0 lead.

I n the bottom of the 12th with two outs, Michael Garzillo would double to left. Jhony Santos followed with a walk to put the tying and winning runs on base. Then behind 1-2 in the count, Pablo Garcia doubled to the right field corner to end the game and hand the Scrappers their fourth extra innings walk off loss this season.

Bieber took a no decision in 3.0 innings of work. He struck out four. Jimenez followed with 6.1 innings of relief. He allowed three hits but no runs. Jimenez walked one and struck out five. Henry Martinez (0-3) took the loss in 2.1 innings of work. He allowed two earned runs on two hits. Martinez walked one and struck out three.

The Scrappers (28-29) and Muckdogs (15-31) conclude their season series on Friday night at 7:05. Aaron Civale will start for the Scrappers. The Scrappers return home on Saturday night to face the State College Spikes.
