Mahon Promoted, Septimo to BayBears

ACKSON, Tenn. (July 8) - Prior to tonight's contest between the Mobile BayBears and West Tenn Diamond Jaxx at Pringles Park, the Arizona Diamondbacks and the BayBears have made the following roster moves. RHP Reid Mahon has been promoted to Triple-A Reno. Mahon had appeared in 19 ballgames for the BayBears this season and was 5-1 with a 3.21 ERA. Last season, Mahon was the BayBears' team leader in saves with 18. To replace Mahon, LHP Leyson Septimo has been called up from Single-A Visalia. Septimo, a member of Arizona's 40-man roster, was 2-1 with a 3.52 ERA in 26 appearances for the Rawhide. He was also recently named to the World roster for the All-Star Futures Game on Sunday in St. Louis. The BayBears now have 24 active players with 1 on the disabled list.
