
Magic Fall to Erie in Playoff Contest

The Lakeland Magic (28-23), the NBA G League affiliate of the Orlando Magic, fell to the Erie BayHawks (29-22), 96-90 in the first round of the G League Playoffs at the Erie Insurance Arena in Erie, PA.
The BayHawks took an early lead in the first quarter with the score 26-22 heading into the second. They continued to ride the momentum of a 22-0 run but the Magic fought back to get within 12-points and a score of 52-40 heading into the locker room at the half. The Magic came out fighting in the third quarter outscoring the BayHawks 28-22 to make it a 6-point game at the start of the fourth and continued to chip away to tie the game 83-83 with just 3:53 remaining on the clock. The Magic would ultimately fall to the No. 3 seed with a final score of 96-90.
Troy Caupain led the way with 26 points and 7 rebounds. Byron Mullens had 20 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Alan Anderson came off the bench to post 15 points and 8 rebounds. TJ Price had 14 points and 3 assists.
For the BayHawks, John Gillon was the leading scorer with 20 points and 3 assists. Raphiael Putney had 19 points and 6 rebounds. Josh Magette had 18 points, 4 rebound and 6 assists and Andrew Wright III, who was transferred from Atlanta earlier today had 15 points and 7 rebounds off the bench.
Erie continues on to play the Fort Wayne Mad Ants at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum in Fort Wayne, IN on Tuesday, April 2 at 7PM on ESPNU and the WatchESPN App.
Lakeland finishes with 28 wins in their inaugural season.
