
Magic Fall to Capitanes at Home

The Lakeland Magic, NBA G League affiliate of the Orlando Magic, fell to the Mexico City Capitanes at the RP Funding Center. Gary Clark fired off a team-high 22 points and Kenneth Faried added a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds as the Capitanes defeated the Lakeland Magic 122-121.
R.J. Hampton had a game-high 31 points off the bench while Jay Scrubb scored 20 and collected seven rebounds for the Magic.
The two clubs would battle back and forth with a total of 16 lead changes throughout the game. In the game's final minutes, Mexico City would go on a 10-0 run to finish the game and defeat Lakeland on back-to-back threes from Gary Clark.
Lakeland would outscore Mexico City in the second and third quarters coming back from a 10-point deficit. The fourth quarter was all Magic as they opened the quarter with an 11-2 run. With less than three seconds on the clock, R.J. Hampton put up a mid-range jump shot that would roll off the rim, unfortunately, the Magic would not get another shot attempt to win the game.
The Lakeland Magic (9-8) will face the Salt Lake City Stars, on Friday, February 10 in Lakeland at 7:00 PM on Bally Sports Florida.
