Magic Defeat BayHawks to Advance to G League Semifinals

The Lakeland Magic, NBA G League affiliate of the Orlando Magic, defeated the Erie BayHawks 139-110 in the first round of the NBA G League Playoffs. The Magic advance to the semifinal round against the Santa Cruz Warriors.

Lakeland got off to a scorching hot start, making 15 of 23 first-half three pointers. Antonio Campbell led all scorers in the first half, recording a season-high 23 points in under 12 minutes of play. Lakeland forced nine Erie turnovers and took a 77-47 lead into halftime. Andrew Rowsey added eight of his 19 points in the third quarter to help the Magic push the margin to 33 going into the final period. Lakeland continued their stellar shooting in the fourth quarter to secure the 29-point victory.

The Lakeland Magic broke three NBA G League shooting records in the game, including most three pointers made in a postseason game (23), most three pointers made in a postseason half (15), and most three pointers made in a postseason quarter (10). The Magic also scored the second-most points in a game in franchise history (139). Nine of the 10 active Lakeland players hit a three. Seven Magic players scored in double figures.

Campbell led all scorers and finished with 25 points (5-7 3PT) and six rebounds. Rowsey scored 19 points (4-7 3PT) and seven rebounds. Robert Franks posted a double-double, finishing with 17 points and 12 rebounds. Jon Teske and Billy Garrett both added 17 points each.

The Lakeland Magic are back at it tomorrow against the Santa Cruz Warriors for the NBA G League semifinal round matchup. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:00 PM at the HP Field House. The game can be seen on ESPNU. The winner of tomorrow's game moves on to the NBA G League Finals on Thursday, March 11 at 4:30 PM.
