Madison, Wis. - The Madison Mallards put the finishing touches on their first series sweep of the 2015 season Wednesday night at Warner Park, exploding for 16 hits -- six of them for extra-bases -- while limiting the Kalamazoo Growlers to three en route to a convincing 16-1 victory. With the Ho-Chunk Gaming Madison Big Win of the Night in the books, Donnie Scott's roster improved its record to 2-0.

Jonathan Quintana (Barry University) led the way for Madison's offensive outburst, going 3-for-3 with three runs batted in, two runs scored and a walk drawn. Anthony Gonsolin (St. Mary's College) chipped in with his first home run of the season and two runs scored in the winning effort, while J.J. Gould (Jacksonville University) plated three runs and scored twice on his way to a 3-for-5 batting line.

Nate Hoffmann (Middle Tennessee State) received his first start of the season, allowing just one earned run on two hits, one walk and four strikeouts across five strong innings. Scott Moss (Florida), Tyler Frowirth (Minnesota State), Vince Arobio (Pacific) and Mike Kaelin (Buffalo) combined for four scoreless frames of relief and seven strikeouts out of Madison's bullpen.

With the series sweep in the books, the Mallards will turn their collective attention toward Thursday night's home game against the Wisconsin Woodchucks. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 p.m. at Warner Park, featuring Marshfield Clinic Soccer Millie Bobblehead Giveaway night presented by WKOW TV.
