Madison Capitols News Release
After falling 4-1 on Thursday night to Tri-City, the Capitols hit the ice Friday evening in search of the team's first win of the regular season. Like Thursday, the Caps faced a Western Conference opponent, the Fargo Force.
The Capitols and Force had not met since the fall of 2019 when the teams played in a two game series in Fargo.
In the first, Fargo got out to a big lead scoring the first three goals of the evening. The Force took a three goal lead into the second period where they extended their lead to eight.
Madison found themselves on the scoreboard in the third with Jack Musa deflecting a Quinn Finley shot in to record his first goal of the season. Finley and Matikka each picked up their second points of the season on the goal.
The Capitols ultimately fell 8-1 in the contest.
The team returns home Friday, September 30, to face off against Dubuque. Not only is the game the first home game since the Clark Cup Final in May, but the game is also the first $1 Beer Night of the season! Puck drop is scheduled for 7:05 pm Friday night.
