Madison Capitols Tender Ohio Centerman Gerard

Madison Capitols News Release
Madison, WI - The Madison Capitols have announced the tendering of 18-year-old center Charlie Gerard.
A native of Rocky River, Ohio, the 5-foot-11-inch, 175-pound Gerard played this past season with the Ohio AAA Blue Jackets U18 squad in the Tier 1 Elite Hockey League. He recorded 29 goals and 44 points in just 36 games.
Gerard's 29 goals were the third highest of any player in the league. Fellow Capitols tender Ryan Lohin (Chadds Ford, Pa.) led the league with 30. The right-handed Gerard has committed to play college hockey at Minnesota State, Mankato.
"Charlie is a player that possesses the puck and can get first touch because of his elite speed," said Capitols head coach Steve Miller. "His puck skills and speed allow him to create separation from a defender. He is a player that wants the puck on his stick and will make plays when he has it."
Gerard joins previously tendered forwards Lohin and Sebastian Fuchs (Lidingo, Sweden) and defenseman Jalen Chatfield (Ypsilanti, Mich.) as Capitols skaters for the 2014-15 season.
