Indiana Mad Ants News Release

The NBA D-League's Fort Wayne Mad Ants announced today that assistant coach Doug Noll has resigned from his position with the team. Noll was in his first full season with the Mad Ants as the assistant coach after taking the position full time last season when Kent Davison left to become the head men's basketball coach of the Qatar national team.

Noll has stepped down from his position with the Ants to focus on his basketball business, the Doug Noll Basketball Academy. "I thank the Mad Ants for the opportunity to be a part of professional basketball, and I wish the team the very best as they finish the season," said Noll. "As the Academy progresses, it has become increasingly difficult to split my time, and I need to throw my focus back into my business."

The Doug Noll Basketball Academy is one of the leading basketball and skills development programs in the state. The Academy has a number of local high school stars honing their skills under the tutelage of Noll - a former Division I head coach at IPFW - and former NBA player, Logan VanderVelden.

"It is always difficult to lose a quality person and coach like Doug, but we thank him for all his contributions to the Mad Ants organization," said Mad Ants President Jeff Potter. "We wish him the very best in his next endeavor."

The Mad Ants will look to fill the assistant coaching position before their next game. Fort Wayne plays the Sioux Falls Skyforce on Thursday at the Coliseum at 7 pm and will play the Dakota Wizards on Friday, February 20 at the Coliseum.
