Mad Ants Clinch Season Series Over Sioux Falls
February 19, 2009 - NBA G League (G League)
Indiana Mad Ants News Release
Fort Wayne, IN (February 19, 2009)- The Sioux Falls Skyforce had no answer for Mad Ants center Chris Hunter, as the Mad Ants avenged a tough defeat on Tuesday to the Skyforce with a 99-90 victory this evening at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum. Hunter's monster game included 34 points and 17 rebounds, and the win clinched the season series against the Skyforce for the Mad Ants.
The Mad Ants held the lead for much of the game, including a 16 point lead at the start of the fourth quarter, but the Skyforce clawed back to cut the lead to 6 in the final period to give Mad Ants fans nightmares of the previous Tuesday. The Ants, however, were able to keep their composure and closed out their first home victory over the Skyforce.
The Skyforce were led by Bobby Jones' 24 points, and Frank Williams added 19. Taj McCullough and Ron Howard both chipped in 23 points for the Mad Ants. The Mad Ants are back in action tomorrow night against the Dakota Wizards.
