Mad Ants Bring Cheer to Community

Fort Wayne, IN (December 18, 2008) - With the holidays in full swing the Mad Ants recognize that there are plenty of Fort Wayne families in need this season. To do their part, the entire Mad Ants organization will team up to give less fortunate kids the Christmas of their dreams on Monday, December 22ndas part of the NBA D-League's Season of Cheering initiative.
The Mad Ants have partnered with Meijer, Great Clips and the Vincent House, a transitional housing organization for homeless individuals in Fort Wayne, to provide 10 deserving kids an opportunity of a lifetime. Each Mad Ants player will be paired up with a child from Vincent House and guide them on a $100 shopping spree at Meijer on Lima Road from 2-3pm. Great Clips has also donated free haircuts to all the kids.
Continuing on in the holiday spirit, the Mad Ants will also visit Lutheran Hospital later that evening, delivering gifts to children. The team will interact with the children to help fill their holiday season with joy and excitement.
The Mad Ants will be back on the court to resume regular season play on Tuesday, December 23rd, as they host the Reno Bighorns at 7:30pm at the Memorial Coliseum.
