December 18, 2008 - NBA G League (G League) News Release
ANAHEIM ACQUIRES KEDRICK BROWN AND MARCUS CAMPBELL
The Anaheim Arsenal acquired guard/forward Kedrick Brown and center Marcus Campbell. Brown and Campbell both spent time with the Arsenal last season. Brown, the Boston Celtics 11th overall pick in the 2001 NBA Draft, has appeared in 143 NBA games, spending time with the Boston Celtics, Cleveland Cavaliers, and Philadelphia 76ers. Last year with the Arsenal, Brown posted 15.2 points per game, while collecting 5.9 rebounds per game. Campbell, a 7 foot center who played collegiately at Mississippi State, posted 12.9 points per game while collecting a team high 9.5 rebounds per game. Both players will be available for tomorrow's game against the Idaho Stampede.
WEDNESDAY NIGHT HIGHLIGHTS...top performers from Wednesday's games
Rookie Gary Forbes knocked down two free throws with 4.5 seconds left to give the Sioux Falls Skyforce a thrilling 99-98 victory over the host Colorado 14ers. Forbes scored 17 of his game-high 26 points with a perfect 6-for-6 shooting performance in the first half. The backcourt duo of Carl Elliott and Gary Ervin each added 17 points in the win.
Colorado was led by Denver assignee Sonny Weems with 24 points and Eddie Gill had 23 with seven rebounds, 10 assists, and two blocks. Cheikh Samb, also on assignment from the Nuggets, added 10 points, 11 rebounds, and five blocks.
ALUMNI ACHIEVEMENTS...a look at D-League Alumni in last night's NBA games
15 players with D-League experience competed in seven NBA games last night, five as starters. Here are the highlights:
Louis Williams led the 76ers with 25 points and grabbed four rebounds as Philadelphia defeated Milwaukee 93-85.
Andray Blatche recorded a double-double in the Wizards matchup against the Pistons. Blatche tallied 12 points and 11 rebounds as a starter for Washington.
As starters, Jamario Moon of the Raptors and Kelenna Azubuike of the Warriors both finished one rebound shy of double-doubles. Azubuike notched 18 points and nine rebounds in 37 minutes of play. Moon finished with 13 and nine.
