February 2, 2020 - NBA G League (G League)
Indiana Mad Ants News Release
The Fort Wayne Mad Ants, presented by Lutheran Health Network, the NBA G League affiliate of the Indiana Pacers, announced today they have acquired guard Scoochie Smith from the Canton Charge in exchange for the returning player rights to Omari Johnson. The trade is not subject to any player passing a physical.
Smith started 46 games last season with the Canton Charge and averaged 12.2 points, 6.5 assists, 4.5 rebounds and 1.7 steals in 33.5 minutes per contest. He also started seven games during the 2017-18 season with Canton.
The 6-foot-2 guard played collegiately at the University of Dayton from 2013-17.
Smith last played for Peristeri in Greece.
The Mad Ants erased a 35-point second-half lead, which set a new NBA G League record for the largest deficit overcome by a team in a victory, against the Charge last night.
Fort Wayne returns to action tomorrow night at home against Raptors 905.
