Moose Jaw Warriors News Release

Moose Jaw, SK: The Moose Jaw Warriors are pleased to announce the signing of 18 year old forward Matt MacKay. Matt has spent the past two seasons with the Calgary Canucks in the Alberta Junior Hockey League.

"We're very excited to have Matt join our hockey club, he has been on our radar for some time and we are pleased that he has decided to join our hockey club. He has had success the past two years with the Canucks, averaging a point per game," commented General Manager Chad Lang.

Matt's success in Junior A has earned him the opportunity to participate as a member of Team West in the 2008 World Junior A Challenge in which he scored three times in four games. He also competed at the 2008 CJHL Prospect Game in December which was held in Summerside PEI.

"We feel that once Matt makes the adjustment to the Western Hockey League he has the capability of achieving similar success as he has in Junior A. He is a skilled forward that will help improve our power play and at the same time fits within our youth movement", concluded General Manager Chad Lang.
