M-Braves Scatter Seven Hits, Lose to Shuckers 8-1

PEARL, MS - The M-Braves (1-5) scattered seven hits in an 8-1 loss to the Biloxi Shuckers (6-0) on Thursday night at MGM Park.

CJ Alexander went 2-for-4 with a double, and six other M-Braves got hits. The M-Braves went 1-for-13 with runners in scoring position.

The Shuckers jumped out to a 2-0 lead after Joey Wiemer, the No. 2 prospect in the Milwaukee organization (MLB Pipeline), smashed a two-run homer to left center. Biloxi scored a run in both the third and fourth to extend the lead to 4-0.

After two hits and no runs in the first three innings, the M-Braves bats started to heat up in the fourth. Back-to-back doubles from Drew Lugbauer and Jalen Miller scored the first M-Braves' run of the game to make it 4-1. Miller's RBI double was his first RBI and second double of the season.

Michael Harris II started off the sixth with a single to collect a hit in all six games this season. Harris II is 10-for-24 with two triples, four RBI and two stolen bases.

RHP Coleman Huntley III threw two scoreless frames with three strikeouts in relief of starting RHP AJ Puckett.

The Shuckers piled on four more runs to win 8-1. Biloxi finished with 10 hits, three home runs and runs in five of eight innings at the plate.

The M-Braves take on Biloxi tomorrow at 6:35 CT in game four of the six-game road series. The M-Braves next home game will be on April 19 against the Chattanooga Lookouts at Trustmark Park.
