
M-Braves Bats Explode in 10-5 Win over Pensacola

PEARL, MS - The Mississippi Braves (43-51, 9-17) bats exploded in a 10-5 win over the Pensacola Blue Wahoos (57-38, 16-11) in the series finale on Sunday afternoon at Trustmark Park.
Down 1-0 in the second, the M-Braves put up three runs in their first big inning of the day. After two walks, Drew Campbell lined a base hit into right field to tie the game. Two batters later, Cody Milligan smashed an automatic double that got stuck in the wall in right field to score another run. Cal Conley capped off the inning with an RBI single, scoring Campbell before Milligan was tagged out at the plate.
Conley reached base four times, going 2-for-3 with a walk, a hit by pitch and an RBI. Campbell went 2-for-4 with two RBI singles.
Luke Waddell doubled in a run in the fifth to make it 4-1. Waddell reached base four times, going 2-for-3 with a double, two walks and two RBI.
Domingo Robles posted his second straight quality start. The left-hander went six innings and allowed two runs in his sixth win of the season. Robles gave up five scattered hits and two walks while striking out three batters. Robles improved to a 3.94 ERA in 89 innings for the M-Braves this season.
The M-Braves broke the game open with five runs in the sixth. All nine batters came to the plate in the inning. Cade Bunnell led off the sixth with his 13th home run, a monster blast that landed on top of the Farm Bureau Grill. Campbell picked up an RBI single, Waddell knocked in a run and Drew Lugbauer lined a two-run base hit into left field in the inning. The M-Braves led 9-2 after six innings.
Javier Valdes added the 10th run with an RBI double on a grounder down the left-field line in the seventh.
The M-Braves have a scheduled day off tomorrow before seven games against the Montgomery Biscuits (Double-A Affiliate, Tampa Bay Rays) from August 1-6. For tickets and a full list of promotions, visit mississippibraves.com.
