M-Braves Announce Ronald Acuna Jr. Bobblehead Giveaway on Saturday, August 25

PEARL, MS --The Mississippi Braves are excited to announce that the first 1,500 fans on Saturday, August 25 will receive a Ronald Acuña Jr. bobblehead, commemorating his 2017 stint with the M-Braves. The giveaway will be a part of Trustmark's Super Sensational Saturday, including Post-Game Fireworks and $10,000 Dash For Cash as the M-Braves play host to the Biloxi Shuckers in the final homestand of 2018.

Acuña made the most of his brief stint with the M-Braves last season, being named Southern League Player of the Week twice and earning a Southern League Mid-Season All-Star selection. Acuña was named the Mississippi Braves Player of the Year by the organization, batting .326 (72-for-221) with 24 extra-base hits, 19 stolen bases and 30 RBI during his time in Pearl. Acuña ended his season with a minor league-leading 181 total hits, and paced all Atlanta farmhands in batting average (.325), runs (88), doubles (31), triples (tied, 8), home runs (tied, 21), RBI (82), OPS (.896) and stolen bases (44). He was named Minor League Player of the Year by Baseball America.

Acuña made his Major League debut for the Braves earlier this season on April 25 and has continued to post incredible numbers, solidifying himself as an NL Rookie of the Year candidate. His incredible rookie season has included being just the third Braves player over the last 110 seasons to reach 15 career home runs prior to his 21st birthday. He also became just the fourth player in baseball history to hit a leadoff home run in both games of a doubleheader on August 13 against the Marlins. The former M-Brave has homered in five straight games, tying the franchise modern-era record for most consecutive games with a homer.
