LYNX DEFEAT COMETS; IMPROVE TO 2-0 FOR FIRST TIME SINCE INAUGURAL SEASON LYNX 98, COMETS 92 (OT) Seimone Augustus scored 25 points and Nicky Anosike tallied 16 of her 20 after halftime as the Lynx rallied to beat Houston, 98-92 in overtime, on Tuesday night at Reliant Arena. Tina Thompson scored the game's first eight points and had 12 in the opening period to stake the Comets to a 26-17 lead. Noelle Quinn capped a 10-0 start to the second period, putting Minnesota in front, but Houston countered with 15 unanswered points and took its biggest lead of the night at 41-27 on a Thompson 3-pointer. The Lynx narrowed it to eight by halftime, and pulled even when Candice Wiggins' jumper made it 59-59 with 2:01 left in the third quarter. However, Matee Ajavon beat the buzzer to rebuild a 68-62 Comets lead, and another Ajavon basket pushed the advantage to 80-68 midway through the fourth. Anosike keyed a finishing 13-2 outburst for Minnesota, and Augustus' basket with 25.9 seconds to play forced overtime, where the Lynx never trailed en route to halting a five-game skid against Houston. Augustus pulled in a career-high nine rebounds and Anna DeForge contributed 19 points for Minnesota. Thompson paced the Comets with 20 points and nine boards.
