Lynx Lose Fourth Straight, 9-5

The Lynx dropped their fourth straight game, falling 9-5 to the Durham Bulls. The Lynx had the tying run come to the plate in the bottom of the ninth until Dusty Wathan grounded out to end the game.
The losses drop the Lynx record to 25-31 while Durham improves to 31-30.
Durham got to Lynx starter Zack Segovia for a run in the top of the first and three more in the second inning to put the Lynx in an early 4-0 hole. Ottawa cut the deficit with a run in the bottom of the second inning.
Jim Rushford led off with a single and moved to second on a wild pitch before scoring on Danny Sandoval's RBI single. The Lynx put another run on the board in the bottom of the third when Joe Thurston walked and later scored on Jim Rushford's double.
Ottawa pulled even in the bottom of the fourth when Joey Hammond and Chris Roberson hit back-to-back two-out singles, scoring on Joe Thurston's double. But the Bulls got another three runs in the sixth before putting another run on the board in each of the seventh and eighth.
The Lynx scored once in the bottom of the ninth to cut the lead to 9-5 and had the bases loaded with two down before Dusty Wathan grounded out to end the game.
