Minnesota Lynx News Release

MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL - The Minnesota Lynx are signing fans of all ages to a one-day contract as part of the 2011 Lynx Fantasy Camp. For just $120, fans are invited to go through the entire game-day experience, including warming up with Lynx trainers, watching game film, going through a practice, receiving an inspirational pregame speech from Coach Reeve and ultimately participating in a fantasy camp game against each other. The three-hour fantasy camp, to be held on Sunday, July 10, includes three premium $60 tickets to the July 9th matchup with the Connecticut Sun, autographs from Lynx coaches and players in attendance and a Fantasy Camp T-shirt.

This year's fantasy camp is any Lynx fan's ultimate dream. Taking place in the Life Time Fitness Training Center inside of Target Center, Lynx players Seimone Augustus, Alexis Hornbuckle, Taj McWilliams-Franklin and Candice Wiggins will help instruct the participants alongside Lynx coaches Cheryl Reeve, Shelley Patterson and Jim Petersen.

Fans will begin their experience by warming up on the court with the Lynx training staff. Preparing for their upcoming practice, they will get their body ready with the same stretches and form running that Lynx players use to warm up for their games. Once stretched, head coach Cheryl Reeve and the Lynx players will put the participants through a full-court practice, working on drills such as the three-man weave and shell drill. Similar to practice preparing players for their next game, these drills will get the campers ready for their game later that day.

After practice ends, assistant coach Jim Petersen will take the campers into the team's official film room to break down footage of their next opponent. Petersen will show the fans the same footage that Lynx players use to prepare for upcoming games, giving fans an inside look at what it really takes to play in the WNBA.

With the film session wrapped up, the fantasy campers will be ready for an inspirational pregame speech from Coach Reeve. Just as she pumps up Lynx players before their games, Reeve will get the campers psyched up and ready to play in their fantasy camp game.

Finally, the participants will be split into different teams coached by both Lynx players and coaches for the ultimate fantasy camp showdown. After the conclusion of the game, fans and coaches will have a meet and greet with Lynx stars, signing autographs and mingling until the end of the event.

To sign up or find out additional information, fans can contact Minnesota Lynx Business Development Manager Carley Knox by phone at 612-673-8408 or by email at knox@lynxbasketball.com . Fans can also print an order form online to send in at www.LynxBasketball.com .
