
Lynx Forward Maya Moore Named Western Conference Player of the Week

MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL - The WNBA today named Minnesota Lynx forward Maya Moore its Western Conference Player of the Week for games played Monday, July 7 through Sunday, July 14. The Player of the Week award is Moore's second this season and seventh of her career.
Moore started off the week with a game-high 30 points, including 16 in the fourth quarter, helping the Lynx pile up a 27-13 advantage to rally past Los Angeles (83-72) having trailed after three quarters. She helped the Lynx defeat Tulsa on July 10 at the BOK Center, scoring a game-high 33 points and grabbing 11 rebounds, posting her third 30+ point and 10+ rebound game this season (10th career). She also finished with three assists and two steals and was perfect from the charity strip, finishing 8-of-8 from the line. Moore closed out the week with game-high 26 points and 12 rebounds in the July 13 win over Seattle, marking her club-record 12th career game with 20+ points and 10+ rebounds and 19th double-double of her career (seventh this season).
This season Moore leads the league in scoring and minutes played, averaging 23.7 points and 34.9 minutes per game. She also ranks T-5th in steals (2.00 spg), seventh in free throw accuracy (88.1%), T-8th in rebounds (8.2 rpg), T-13th in blocks (0.86 bpg) and 18th in field goal accuracy (48.2%).
Atlanta's Angel McCoughtry was named the Eastern Conference Player of the Week.
After Sunday's win against Seattle, the Minnesota Lynx improve to 16-6 overall and remain within 1.5 games of Phoenix in the Western Conference standings.
Wednesday's game against Tulsa is the annual "Camp Day" game, with over 11,000 day campers from across the state invading Target Center.
