Minnesota Lynx News Release
TODAY'S GAME
Chicago at Minnesota - Wednesday, July 19, at Target Center (12:00 p.m.)
Wednesday marks the first meeting between the Lynx and the expansion Chicago Sky. In their inaugural season, the Sky has experienced all the growing pains that come with being a first-year team. Currently they stand in last place in the Eastern Conference at 3-17. There have, however, been bright spots in the season for the Sky. Candice Dupree, the sixth overall pick in the 2006 WNBA Draft, has proven herself to be a star in the making. Dupree leads the Sky in scoring at 13.5 ppg and was named to the Eastern Conference All-Star team as a reserve. In a recent win over the New York Liberty on July 7, She recorded a career-high 20 points and also pulled down a game-high six rebounds. Wednesday's game is the Lynx' annual Kids Day and will have an early 12:00 p.m. start time.
NEXT GAME
Minnesota at Houston - Thursday, July 20, at Toyota Center (7:30 p.m.) Two very different stories have unfolded in this season' first two match-ups between these two teams. On June 4 at Houston, Michelle Snow scored a career-high 24 points to lead the Comets to a 23 point victory. A week later, the Lynx controlled the Comets in the second half and, paced by Seimone Augustus' 19, won the game 75-62. On Thursday, they will return to Houston where they are 2-12 all time and face a struggling Comets team that has lost four of its last five games. Tina Thompson leads the Comets in scoring at 17.1 ppg. Lynx trail in the all-time series 7-19.
