THE HILLCATS: Last night, the Hillcats lost to the Winston-Salem Dash 13-12 in 12 innings last night...Dash OF Cyle Hankerd hit a walk-off solo homer in the bottom of the 12th, it was his second home run of the night...The Hillcats led 7-1 in the fifth and 11-7 in the eighth...The Dash scored four in the bottom of the eighth, capped by a three-run homer for OF Michael Earley to tie the game 11-11...Both teams traded runs in the 11th inning...OF David Rohm led the Hillcats attacke with three hits, two doubles, two RBI, and three runs scored...The Hillcats are now 10-8 in the second half and in first place in the North...

VS. WINSTON-SALEM: Lynchburg is 6-5 against the Dash this year...The two teams just met in Lycnhburg July 2-3 for a three-game set...The opener was postponed due to a power outage at City Stadium and a doubleheader took place Monday...The 'Cats took two of three from the Dash and have now won two of the three series between the two this season, but the home team has won each series thus far 2-1...Both teams have already clinched play-off spots in September by winning their division in first half...

NOT EVERY DAY: The 'Cats and Dash scored 25 runs combined in last night's game...The last time that happened in a Hillcats game was June 20, 2008...The 'Cats lost to the Myrtle Beach Pelicans 22-3 that day...Last night's game also went 3 hours and 53 minutes, which is the longest game of the season for the 'Cats this season...

CLOBBERING 'CATS: The Hillcats matched their season-high for runs scored in a single game Saturday night with 14...They accomplished that feat once before in a 14-8 win over the Carolina Mudcats, in Carolina, on April 24...All nine batters notched a hit in the game, while eight had at least one RBI, and eight had a run scored...The 14-1 win last night was the largest winning margin for the Hillcats this season, breaking the 11-run win (13-2) over the Potomac Nationals April 15...

PEAKS AND VALLEYS: Lynchburg scored just 10 runs in 5 games from June 24-29...Went 1-4 in those five games...Since then, they have scored 65 runs in nine games, averaging 7.2 runs per game...They are 6-3 in those nine games...

ONE STEP FURTHER: The 'Cats averaged just under three runs per game through the first 13 games in the second half (38 runs)...They have now scored 52 runs in their last five games, averaging 10.4 runs per contest...Still just 3-2 in the last five games, despite outscoring opponents 52-36...

GRAHAM DENIED: RHP J.R. Graham gave up three runs, one earned in five innings last night, leaving the game with a 7-3 lead...The bullpen couldn't hold the lead giving Graham his third straight no-decision and keeping him at eight wins, one behind the league lead...

ROHM IS BURNING: OF David Rohm went 3-for-5 last night with two doubles, two RBI, three runs scored, and a stolen base...Has now hit safely in 10 of his last 11 games...Batting .333 (14-for-38) with six doubles, a home run, seven RBI, and eight runs scored in that stretch...The homer was his first since August 29, 2011 playing with Low-A Rome...His stolen base last night was his first since June 25, 2011, also with Rome...Prior to this stretch, his average was at .207, lowest since he was hitting .200 four games into the season...Has raised his season clip 38 points, to .245...He has 40 hits this season, with 17 doubles, one triple, and one home run...

RED HOT SALCE: 3B Edward Salcedo went 3-for-6 last night with a double, a home run, two RBI, and two runs scored...Currently on a five-game hitting streak in which he is 11-for-22 with four doubles, a home run, six RBI, nine runs scored, and three stolen bases...Has multiple hits in each of his last four games...Raised his averaged from .257 to .276 during this streak, his highest mark since batting .277 as of April 29...Has a hit in 14 of his last 16 games, but had onle on one-hit games in that stretch until the last four nights...

TONIGHT'S OPPOSING PITCHER: RHP Jake Petricka was a second round pick in the 2010 draft by the White Sox out of Indiana State University...Entered the 2011 season ranked as the seventh best prospect in the White Sox organization by Baseball America...Split 2010 between Bristol and Knnapolis after signing...Rated by BA as having the best fastball in the White Sox 2010 draft class, after being clocked at 98 MPH in college and 100 during his pro debut...2011, went 3-1 with a 2.81 ERA in eight starts for Kannapolis...Called up to Winston-Salem June 27...Went 4-7 with a 4.39 ERA in 13 starts for the Dash...Made two starts against the Hillcats (both at City Stadium)...Went 0-1 surrendering eight earned runs in 11.2 innings...Entered 2012 as the fourth-rated prospect in the White Sox organization...Currently 4-5 with a 5.35 ERA in 17 starts this season for the Dash...Against the Hillcats, he is 1-0 with a 2.25 ERA in two starts...Gave up four runs, three earned, on nine hits in 12 innings...Struck out 11 and walked five...Made a spot start for Double-A Birmingham on May 7...Walked seven in five innings...Gave up three runs and lost...
