THE HILLCATS: Monday, the 'Cats finished a suspended game started on June 28 losing 10-0, followed by seven-inning game in which they fell 8-3 ...The suspended game picked up in the bottom of the first...The Hillcats scattered nine hits through out the game and failed to score...Meanwhile, Ian Gac led the offensive strike for Winston-Salem with his 31st home run of the season...In the nightcap, Lynchburg did not score until the fourth inning when Joey Terdoslavich launched a ball out of the stadium to right field for his 17th dinger on the year...The Dash bats were too much again though...Winston scored five runs in the first two frames and led the rest of the way...The Hillcats are currently in third place in the Northern Division at 20-30, 11.0 games back of the Frederick Keys in first place...

VS. WINSTON-SALEM: The Hillcats are 4-11 against the Dash this season...Lynchburg is just 1-7 while visiting BB&T Ballpark...The 'Cats beat the Dash in their first game in Winston-Salem back on May 5, but has lost seven straight meetings at BB&T since...Winston-Salem took the season series 16-4 against the Hillcats in 2010...However, the Hill-City has welcomed a new affiliate in the Atlanta Braves this year...Last season the Myrtle Beach Pelicans (2010 Braves Advance-A affiliate) nearly split the season series with the Dash taking nine games of 20...

A BIT ONE-SIDED: Last night, the Dash outscored the Hillcats 18-3 through both games, but only out hit them 29-16...The 'Cats have not scored more than three runs in a game against Winston-Salem since losing to the Dash at home 9-5 on May 25...In eight games at BB&T Ballpark, Lynchburg has score four or more only twice and has lost both those games....They are averaging just 2.63 runs per game while visiting Winston-Salem (21 runs/8 games)...

TOO CLOSE FOR COMFORT: Saturday night's one-run loss was the Hillcats' 21st loss by that small a margin this season...That is second-most, only behind Myrtle Beach's 24, in the League...Now 12-21 in one-run affairs, a winning percentage of .364, Lynchburg holds the worst record in the circuit...

BEST OF THE BRAVOS: Eight members of the Hillcats are ranked amongst the top 30 prospects in the Atlanta Braves organization according to Baseball America...That list includes C Christian Bethancourt (12), SS Andrelton Simmons (15), RHP David Hale (17), RHP Dimasther Delgado (18), OF Todd Cunningham (20), OF Adam Milligan (22), INF Joe Leonard (23) and 2B Phil Gosselin (25)...

GET'EM ON: OF L.V. Ware went 0-for-2 Saturday night with a walk...He's now reached base in 13 consecutive contests...In that span he is hitting ..317 (13-for-41) with three doubles, a triple, and two home runs...He's also been walked five times and hit twice...The last time he didn't reach base was in the second game of a double header July 27 where he only came up twice...Snapped a four-game hit-streak that day...

GET'EM IN: INF Joe Leonard has driven in 16 runs over his last 16 games...That makes up 31 percent of his RBI total on the season thus far in about 16 percent of his total games...He has two four-RBI game in that stretch...He's driven in a run in six of his last nine games...

WILEY WATCH: OF Keenan Wiley was called up from Low-A Rome on April 25th...He played in his 86th game with the Hillcats Monday night, going 2-for-3 with two RBI...He is hitting .289 on the year...That mark would be good for third in the Carolina League but Wiley is still three plate appearances short of qualifying...He'll need 55 plate appearances over the last 19 games of the season, an average of 2.89 PA/G to meet the season qualification mark...In the short term, if he can get 14 plate appearances in the next four games, he'll qualify...

CATNIPS: INF Joey Terdoslavich hit his 46th double of the season Tuesday night, setting a new Lynchburg record...He is just five behind the all-time Carolina League record...The Hillcats stole a season-high six bases Thursday night against the Blue Rocks, with six different players...

TONIGHT'S OPPOSING PITCHER: LHP Joe Serafin was selected in the 37th round of the 2009 draft by the White Sox out of the University of Vermont...Split time in 2010 between low-A Kannapolis and Winston-Salem...Was a mid-season All Star for Kannapolis...Was 7-5 with a 3.47 ERA in Kannapolis, and 3-4 with a 5.63 ERA in Winston Salem in 2010...Was American East Pitcher of the Year in 2008 with the University of Vermont...Pitched against Lynchburg on June 26...Pitched six and two-thirds innings, giving up three runs, two earned on nine hits in a no-decision...Lynchburg lost that game 5-3...Currently 4-9 with a 5.37 ERA...
