THE HILLCATS: Sunday, the 'Cats beat the Wilmington Blue Rocks 6-1...Lynchburg fell behind early 1-0, but scored six unanswered the rest of the way...The Hillcats' bullpen was called upon early last night as starter Blaine Sims left after just two innings...RHP Andrew Russell, RHP Jeremy Haynes, and LHP Ryan Buchter all combined for seven scoreless frames...C Christian Bethancourt hit his first home run as a Hillcat in the eighth inning which sparked a three-run rally that put the 'Cats up 6-1 late...The Hillcats are currently in third place in the Northern Division at 17-25, 9.0 games back of the Frederick Keys in first place...

VS. KINSTON: The Hillcats are 3-11 against the Indians this season...Despite the Indians dominance in the season series record wise, they have only outscored the 'Cats 47-44 this year...The series has been dominated by pitching with neither team averaging over 3.4 runs per game...One side, or both, has been held to one or fewer runs in 10 of the 14 match-ups...Lynchburg took the 2010 season series 14-6...However, the Hillcats have switched affiliations since last season...The Myrtle Beach Pelicans (2010 Braves Advance-A affiliate) lost the season series 8-12 against the Indians a season ago...

BIG LEAGUE DREAMS: Atlanta Braves GM Frank Wren invited the Hillcats' players and staff to Nationals Park in Washington, D.C. Wednesday afternoon to check out the big league facilities and watch the game in order to give them a taste of exactly what they should look forward to if they can make it to the ultimate level...The 'Cats are 4-1 since the trip...

SIGNS OF LIFE: Lynchburg has won six of their last nine, and have won their last three series in a row, against the Salem Red Sox, Frederick Keys and Wilmington Blue Rocks...It's the first time the 'Cats have accomplished such a feat all season...Not since May 23-29 had they even won back-to-back series...With just 28 games left, the Hillcats are six games out of a playoff spot behind the Potomac Nationals...

SOME SACRIFICE MORE THAN OTHERS: With two more sacrifice flies Saturday night, the Hilcats now have 10 over their last seven games going back to last Sunday against the Salem Red Sox...On the season the team has 35 now, which is second behind Salem with 37 for most in the league...INF Phil Gosselin is responsible for nine of the flies, most in the league...

BEST OF THE BRAVOS: Eight members of the Hillcats are ranked amongst the top 30 prospects in the Atlanta Braves organization according to Baseball America...That list includes C Christian Bethancourt (12), SS Andrelton Simmons (15), RHP David Hale (17), RHP Dimasther Delgado (18), OF Todd Cunningham (20), OF Adam Milligan (22), INF Joe Leonard (23) and 2B Phil Gosselin (25)...

LIKE HE NEVER LEFT: OF Todd Cunningham returned from a nearly two-month long stint on the disable list last Tuesday...Through his first six games back, he is 10-for-24 with four doubles, a triple, two RBI, and five runs scored re-solidifying the top of the Hillcats batting order...

CHASING HISTORY: INF Joey Terdoslavich hit his 44th double of the season Saturday night...The next best total in the league this year is 28...He has already broken the Hillcats single season doubles record previously set by Rey Navarette (41) back in 2002...The all-time Carolina League record is 51, set by Woody Fair with Durham in 1948...He ranks among the league leaders in a number of other categories this year as well, including home runs (16, 4th), hits (110, 5th), RBI (63, 5th), extra-base hits (61, 1st), slugging pct. (.522, 2nd), total bases (204, 2nd)...

TONIGHT'S OPPOSING PITCHER: LHP TJ House was selected in the 16th round of the 2008 draft out of Picayune (MS) Memorial High School...Spent all of 2010 with Kinston...Tied for third in the Carolina League in starts (26), Fifth in innings pitched (135.2) and eighth in ERA (3.91)...In 2009 with Lake County, ranked fourth among Indians minor league pitchers with a 3.15 ERA...Faced Lynchburg on May 17...Earned a win, giving up three runs on eight hits in six innings pitched...Earned win against Lynchburg on June 18, pitching six shutout innings...Earned Pitcher of the Week on June 20 for that performance...Won against Lynchburg on July 8, pitching five shutout innings...Currently 6-9 with a 4.39 ERA...
