THE HILLCATS: Thursday, the 'Cats beat the Frederick Keys 4-2...RHP Gary Moran started on the mound for Lynchburg, making his debut at the Advanced-A level...He completed six innings, gave up just two runs, both were unearned and took a no decision...The game was tied 2-2 heading into the ninth when L.V. Ware tripled home Keenan Wiley for the go-ahead run...Ware would score in the ninth as well and the Hillcats led 4-2...LHP Ryan Buchter pitched a perfect bottom of the ninth, earning his 11th save in 12 opportunities...The Hillcats are currently tied for third place with the Wilmington Blue Rocks in the Northern Division at 15-24, 10.0 games back of the Frederick Keys in first place...
VS. WILMINGTON: The Hillcats are 7-6 against the Blue Rocks this season...This is the last time Wilmington will travel to Lynchburg this season...The 'Cats are 4-3 against the Blue Rocks at home...Last season, Lynchburg lost the season series to Wilmington 8-12...Myrtle Beach (2010 Braves Advance-A affiliate) however, won 11 of their 20 match-ups with the Blue Rocks a season ago...
BIG LEAGUE DREAMS: Atlanta Braves GM Frank Wren invited the Hillcats' players and staff to Nationals Park in Washington, D.C. Wednesday afternoon to check out the big league facilities and watch the game in order to give them a taste of exactly what they should look forward to if they can make it to the ultimate level...The 'Cats are 2-0 since the trip...
SIGNS OF LIFE: Lynchburg has won four of their last six, and have won their last two series against the Salem Red Sox and Frederick Keys...It's the first time since May 23-29 that the 'Cats have won back-to-back series...They welcome the Blue Rocks to town tonight as they try to win three for the first time all year...

WELCOME BACK: OF Todd Cunningham made his return to the Hillcats lineup Tuesday night after nearly two months away rehabbing his right elbow...Cunningham swung at the first pitch he saw in his first at-bat back, and singled up the middle...In his first three days back, Cunningham is 5-for-11, with a double, an RBI, two runs scored, and he's been hit twice, batting leadoff in all three games...
40 CLUB: INF Joey Terdoslavich smacked his 40th double of the season Sunday and two more Tuesday night to give him 42...No one else in the league even has 30...He snapped a six-game hit streak last night...Had five multi-hit games during that stretch...He went 13-for-22 during the streak, with five doubles, two home runs, 11 RBI, and seven runs scored...He has scored a run in six of his last seven games as well and is currently hitting .281, sixth-best in the league...
RUNNING WILED: OF Keenan Wiley stole two more bases last Sunday...It was his second straight multi-steal game after stealing third twice on Saturday...He now has three multi-steal games in his career...He has proven to be the most effective base stealer for Lynchburg this year with 16 steals in 19 attempts...He's also swinging a good bat recently, currently on a six-game hitting streak, in which he is 11-for-23...Now hitting .296, which would rank second in the league but he is still five plate appearances short of qualifying...
TONIGHT'S OPPOSING PITCHER: LHP Noel Arguelles was signed as a free agent by the Royals on January 5, 2010...Signed a five-year, seven million dollar major league contract...He missed the entire 2010 season with a left shoulder injury, and had surgery on that shoulder in August, 2010...Defected from Cuba in July, 2008 while at the World Junior Championships in Edmonton, Canada...Pitched six shutout innings, giving up just three hits, against the Hillcats on June 24...Currently 4-4 with a 2.90 ERA in 19 starts this season...
