THE HILLCATS: Lynchburg lost 7-4 in the final game of a three-game series at Salem on Sunday afternoon...They still won the series two games to one and are now tied for first place in the Northern Division with the Potomac Nationals...Today is the first game of a three-game series at Winston-Salem and game four of six in a row on the road...

VS. WINSTON-SALEM: Lynchburg took three out of four from the Dash when they met at City Stadium in mid-May...Last season Winston-Salem (then the Warthogs) won the season series 14-6 and were 8-2 at Ernie Shore Field...Lynchburg has the all-time advantage 146-136, but they are 63-74 in the Triad...

HALTED: Lynchburg had their season-high five-game winning streak stopped on Sunday by the Red Sox...The Hillcats are still tied with Potomac for the best record in the league...

FROM LEFT TO RIGHT: After the Hillcats faced a southpaw in the first game of thier series at Salem, the Cats had faced a lefty starter in 12 out of 15 games...Now they will face three right-handers in this series after a righty started the last two games of the series at Salem...

SLIPPERY WHEN WET: On Sunday Lynchburg had the lead on three separate occasions but could not hold onto any of those advantages...They led 2-0, 3-2 and 4-3 before falling 7-4 in the final game of the set...

LONG TIME COMING: Last night RHP Ronald Uviedo won his first game of the season, in his sixth start of the season...It was his first win as a Hillcat despite the fact that he spent time in Lynchburg the last two years...It was also his first win as a starter since 2005 in the Seattle Mariners organization...Uviedo had allowed one earned run or less in four of five starts prior to last night, but was yet to earn a win...

NOT SO GOLDEN: In game three of the series at Salem 3B Pedro Alvarez struckout four times in one game for the third time this season...He is the only Hillcats to accomplish the feat this season...He still had three hits and four RBI in the three-game set...

DURHAM DIALED IN: UTIL Miles Durham is riding a seven-game hitting streak in which he is batting .500 (14-for-28) with four doubles, two home runs, eight RBI and seven runs scored...In the three-game series at Salem, Durham went a combined 7-for-13 with three doubles, a homer, five RBI and two runs...

MAIKO JUST MIGHT: OF Maiko Loyola went a combined 4-for-9 in the first two games of this series at Salem with a double, two home runs five RBI and three runs scored...He became the second Hillcats this year with a multi-homer game when he went deep twice in game one...Coming into the series, Loyola had one home run and five RBI in 19 games...

HE COULD GO ALL THE WAY: The inside the park home run by SS Jordy Mercer on Saturday night was the first by a Hillcat in 2007...

TODAY'S OPPOSING PITCHER: RHP Johnnie Lowe was taken in the 6th round of the 2007 draft of Point Loma Nazarene University by the White Sox...His final year there he went 4-5 with a 3.72 ERA in 13 games (11 starts)...He made his professional debut with rookie league Great Falls and went 4-2 with a 4.57 ERA in 15 starts...Last season Lowe pitched for Low-A Kannapolis and went 5-7 with a 4.10 ERA in 22 games (16 starts)...This season he has gone 2-0 with a 3.68 ERA in five starts for Winston-Salem...He made his Advanced-A debut against Lynchburg on April 13th, and he tossed five and 1/3 innings, allowed just one hit and one run in earning the victory...
