
Lunkers Deliver with Big Win Over Huskies

Brainerd Lakes Area Lunkers News Release
DULUTH - The Brainerd Lakes Area Lunkers offense came up big Thursday night against the Duluth Huskies at Wade Stadium, as the Lunkers scored often in their 11-1 victory.
The Lunkers scored three runs in the first two innings and added two in the top of the 4th with a Tyler Wampler RBI single and a Dan Olinger bases loaded walk.
The Lunkers got two quick runs in the Top of the 8th. And with the Lunkers up 7-1 in the inning, Matt Hillsinger doubled into right-center field with the bases loaded. his double cleared the bases to make it 10-1. A Wade Wass single would drive home Hillsinger to make it 11-1.
Wass and Tommy Reyes each came up with three hits on the night for the Lunkers.
James Farris picks up his first win in the Lunker uniform. The Lunker starter went six innings, giving up one run and striking out four.
The loss goes to Tyler King, who struggled early for Duluth. He falls to (2-2).
The Lunkers improve to (11-19) with the win as the Huskies fall to (9-20).
The two teams are back at it Friday night with first pitch set for 7:05. Charlie Henderson will get the start for the Lunkers against Austin Lubinsky for Duluth.
