Lumsden Named CFL Canadian Player Of The Month

Hamilton, Ontario - Hamilton Tiger-Cats running back Jesse Lumsden has been recognized as the Canadian Football League's Canadian Player of the Month.

Lumsden has carried the ball 47 times for 343 rushing yards - the third highest total in the CFL so far this season. His 7.3 average yards per carry is the largest total among running backs with at least five carries.

The former McMaster standout has also been a key piece of the Cats passing attack, recording 16 receptions for 218 receiving yards. His 561 yards from scrimmage current ranks second among all CFL players.

Lumsden was recognized as the CFL Offensive Player of the Week for his performance in Week 4 against the B.C. Lions. Facing a stingy Lions defence, Lumsden racked up 158 rushing yards and 68 receiving yards.
