Bangor Lumberjacks News Release

Bangor, ME- The Bangor Lumberjacks announced today that their scheduled Negro League Tribute Night which was to include the Jacks players wearing old Negro League Uniforms, has been cancelled due to shipping delays caused by the blackout that affected much of the Northeast last week.

The Lumberjacks looked at the possibility of pushing the night back, but the Jacks promotion schedule would not allow it with the heavily anticipated Margarita's Night with fireworks scheduled for this weekend.

The old Negro League Uniforms that the Jacks were going to wear were delayed in shipping from the southeastern United States, where the event was most recently held.

"We're sorry we had to cancel the event, but the circumstances were out of our control. However, this is something we would like to have for next season, and we will work with an area business to help make it a reality," stated Lumberjacks General Manager Curt Jacey.

The night will still include the Lumberjacks Lucky Seat Night, where fans have the opportunity to win great prizes by just sitting in their seat! It has never been easier to collect a great prize from an area business. Wednesday's game against the Allentown Ambassadors begins at 7:15, with gates opening at 6 PM. For tickets, call (207) 947-1900 or stop in the Lumberjacks Pro Shop in the Bangor Mall.
