
Ambassadors Lose Third in a Row, 9-4, to Bangor

The Allentown Ambassadors fell behind 7-2 in the third inning and never recovered, losing 9-4 Tuesday night to Bangor in Maine.
The Lumberjacks jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning with three straight hits, a one out single from Brad Hargreaves and back-to-back RBI doubles from Juan LeBron and Lorenzo de la Cruz off Ambassador starter Chad Ward.
The Ambassadors would get a run in the second when they loaded the bases with two outs and Jason Williams reached on an error on Schuyler Doakes, allowing Marlon Roche to score. The Ambassadors left them loaded in the second, and added a run a Greg Schmdit RBI groundout that scored Jorge Diaz in the third.
But the Lumberjacks stormed back into the lead in the bottom of the third inning. De la Cruz began it with a walk, then Mark Burke singled. After Todd Brock flied out to center, the Lumberjacks got four consecutive hits. An RBI single from Sandy Martinez, an RBI single from Steve O'Sullivan, a two RBI double from Edwin Thompson, and an RBI single from Doakes.
The Lumberjacks never looked back, as each team added two runs the rest the way, including a solo home run from Garret Larkin for the Ambassadors, his first. Matt Scheuing got the win, his first. He is now 1-1. Chad Ward took the loss, he is 3-5. Every Lumberjack starter had at least one hit in the win. Diaz was 3-5 with a double and an RBI in the loss. The two teams play the second game of the series tomorrow night with Miguel Perez on the mound for the Ambassadors, he'll face John Vigue.
