Bangor Lumberjacks News Release

Bangor, ME- The Bangor Lumberjacks began to trim their roster for the upcoming 2003 Northeast League season this weekend. The team traded Eric Moore to the Rio Grande Valley (TX) White Wings earlier this week, and continued to shave down the roster this weekend by releasing pitchers Eric Frodsham and Jeremy Shorey.

Frodsham, a right-handed side-armer, came into camp as a non-roster invitee, but was unable to make the Lumberjacks squad this season. Shorey, a native of near-by Lisbon, ME, was not able to make the club either, as manager Kash Beauchamp had brought in a number of arms to compete for limited spots.

The Lumberjacks open the 2003 campaign on the road against the Allentown (PA) Ambassadors on Thursday, May 22, but return to Bangor for the home opener on Friday, May 30 at 7 PM against the New Jersey Jackals at Mahaney Diamond.
