Lugbauer Hits 2nd Homer of Season, M-Braves Lose First Road Game to Shuckers 6-4

PEARL, MS - On Tuesday night, the M-Braves (1-3) fell to Biloxi Shuckers (4-0) 6-4 in their first road game of the season at MGM Park.

Drew Lugbauer crushed another homer, LHP Hayden Deal threw 3.1 innings of one-run relief, but five errors cost the M-Braves in the loss. The M-Braves matched Biloxi with seven hits.

Down 2-0 in the second, Lugbauer hit his second home run of the season, a two-run shot to right field to tie the game. Lugbauer now has 6 RBI in just four games.

Deal provided solid relief after RHP Alan Rangel left in the second inning. Deal allowed one unearned run with five strikeouts in 3.1 innings. In two outings, the former non-drafted free agent went 6.0 innings with no earned runs, two hits, two walks and nine strikeouts.

Trailing 5-2 in the eighth, Michael Harris II smashed a triple off the top of the wall in left field to bring in Riley Delgado. Shortstop Luke Waddell brought in Harris with a groundout to make it 5-4.

Harris finished 1-for-4. Delgado and Jesse Franklin V each notched two hits, going 2-for-3 and 2-for-4 respectively. Lugbauer and Harris each have hits in all four games this season.

Biloxi scored a run in the bottom of the eighth to get back up by two runs. Trey Harris legged out an infield single to bring the tying run to the plate in the ninth, but Jefrey Ramos grounded out to end the game.

The M-Braves will return to MGM Park tomorrow night for the second of the six-game series against the Shuckers. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 CT. The M-Braves next home game will be on April 19 against the Chattanooga Lookouts at Trustmark Park.
