
Lowgators to Honor Legendary Football Coach

CHARLESTON, S.C. (March 2) The Charleston Lowgators will honor Summerville High School Football Coach John McKissick for his accomplishments both on and off the field on Sunday, March 7th at 5 p.m. when they host the Columbus Riverdragons at the North Charleston Coliseum.
Coach McKissick, the winningest football coach at any level of play, has a career record of 510-120-13. He ensured his place in the annals of grid iron glory with his 500th career victory on September 12, 2003 when the Green Wave defeated Wando High School in front of 11,500 fans.
"The Charleston Lowgators are thrilled to honor Coach McKissick at the game on Sunday," Lowgators President Mike Boswell said. "He is not only an outstanding football coach, but he is also an amazing role model to the over 3000 students that have played for him."
The celebration will include a halftime ceremony and a silent auction for a football used in the milestone victory signed by Coach McKissick. Proceeds from the auction will be donated to the Summerville High School Athletic Department. The Lowgators promotional squad will wear Green Wave jerseys and a specially discounted ticket price of $7.50 is being offered to all residents of Summerville and students of Dorchester County School District 2.
In addition, the first 1500 kids through the gates will receive a free Krispy Kreme doughnut.
Individual game tickets are $13.50 for adults, $10.00 for students (13 through valid college I.D.) and the military and $7.50 for kids 3 to 12 and seniors 62 and older.
